Final Mastery Reflection

The trajectory of my career has been trending in the right direction as we approach the end of my time at Full Sail. I have challenged myself to further my education and gain certifications to support continued growth. Along the journey, I discovered that YouTube is a platform that offers opportunities for me to flourish as a media strategist or in a similar role. YouTube is the second-largest search engine, behind only its parent company, Google. There are thousands of channels, each catering to a different corner of the interest spectrum. Anyone can find a home for their interests on the platform, and if there isn't one, they can create it themselves by starting a channel and producing their own content. This is an ideal place to focus my career as a marketer, and I plan to continue growing in this area through additional certifications in video ads.

Something that has helped me along my marketing journey has been my internship. I currently serve as a Performance Marketing Analyst intern at an insurance company, and I've benefited tremendously from the opportunity. They have provided me with development, experience, and networking opportunities, among other benefits. One of which was the opportunity to participate in mock interviews with members of the management team as part of the program. These interviews provided insight into the types of questions I could expect from interviewers for marketing roles. They allowed me to receive feedback from eight interviewers over the course of four mock interviews. Each one offered valuable insights into my performance, providing their own feedback based on their unique perspective and expertise. This allowed me to assess my strengths and weaknesses during interviews, and has given me the ability to strengthen my interview skills.

The overlap of my internship with my time at Full Sail has given me both the knowledge and the opportunity to apply it in a real-world setting. It has positioned me as a strong candidate in my career search and has opened my eyes to opportunities that I may have overlooked but can now pursue. I'm glad I decided to further my education, and I am excited to see where it will take me.
